Christmas at Home

What a wonderful season we are leaving behind!  It's hard to believe that Christmas and New Years have already come and gone.  Christmas was so very different for us this year: flying to and from New Mexico and Utah on the weekends, having Mali and Jose (Javi's parents) visiting from Spain for the festivities, spending late into each night playing games (ooooh man I miss that part!), eating ourselves silly, not doing any gifts for each other (which proved to be quite perspective widening), and much much more.

I wish I had a better camera, but I don't and I probably won't until we win the lottery.

We spent lots of time playing with the nieces and nephews.  It's hard to believe how much they've changed in just 4 months!

Here are Javi and Maily:

This is how Javi spent most of his time in Utah: smothered by the children:

Javi puts on the best puppet shows with the girls new puppet theatre:

We saw "The Adventures of Tin-Tin" with David, Brittney, their kids, and Jose.  Afterwards we explored the ever-so-famous toy store Blickenstaff's which lived up to every expectation.  The lights are Riverwoods were so magical this year!

There was a strict dress code for Christmas Eve.  Christmas apparel required.  This was all Javi could come up with from his carry-on suitcase: Mama Sue's apron and Uncle Lew's Santa hat.

The family had ordered crackers from Spain for the Christmas Eve tradition.  Each cracker had a crown inside and we all wore them during dinner.

In our first four months in NM I have taken up crocheting.  It has been a wonderful way to keep myself busy and make some handmade gifts for the family!

One of my favorite things to make are ear warmers.  One for each of the SIL's:

and a scarf/cowl/whatever for Javi's mama.  I'm sad I didn't get a picture of his parents in each of their handmade gifts.  Oh well.  Maybe next year.

And finally, the funnest part of Christmas was sending out our Christmas cards.

With love from the THREE Misiegos.
Baby is due in June and we couldn't be any more excited.  It really is hard to believe that we are going to be parents.  Coming soon will be a post all about the pregnancy so far.  Love it.  Love it all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the New Mexicans.
